The communications center for Heinrich Heine University and headquarters of Düsseldorf Business School
In 2010, work began on modernization and a new building at the Oeconomicum, the headquarters of the Faculty of Business and Economics at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. At that time, the campus was characterized by multi-story concrete buildings. Today, it shines in all its glory thanks to its modern design. The Oeconomicum is located on the southern edge of the campus, between the university library and the medical faculty.
The new building was deliberately constructed above the entrance to the underground car park so as not to seal any additional areas. The gently curved shape of the building - similar to a Euro sign - is oriented vertically towards the university lake and horizontally the wooden terrace follows the terrain. Wide seating steps invite students to study together and now serve as a meeting place for the entire campus.
Düsseldorf Business School has its headquarters in the Oeconomicum, as does the Faculty of Economics. Thus, all students of Düsseldorf Business School enjoy the premium location of the Oeconomicum, where weekly lectures take place.
