MBA Studies

Our MBA programme encompasses the fundamental pillars of business administration, including accounting, marketing, controlling, business law, tax law, and strategic human resource management. Anchored in rigorous theoretical foundations and complemented by practice-oriented methodologies, the programme empowers executives, managers, and departmental leaders to advance their professional expertise to the highest level. Participants will cultivate advanced competencies such as creative problem-solving, information and knowledge management, effective time management, collaborative leadership, intercultural intelligence, and digital literacy with a particular emphasis on social media. During the initial phase of the programme, candidates engage in interdisciplinary study alongside peers from diverse industries, fostering cross-sectoral exchange and networking. Subsequent modules offer the opportunity to pursue industry-specific specialisations, thereby tailoring the learning experience to individual professional trajectories. Upon the successful completion of all coursework and the Master’s Thesis, graduates will be awarded the academic degree of Master of Business Administration (MBA). The tuition fee for the General Management track is €33,500, exclusive of a non-refundable reservation fee of €450 payable upon admission.

Master Of Business Administration (MBA) at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf

The 21-month, part-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme has been purposefully designed for graduates from non-business academic disciplines. Its structure ensures minimal disruption to participants’ professional commitments. Instruction takes place on Fridays from 6:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

As professionals assume increasing leadership responsibilities, advanced business qualifications become indispensable for strengthening managerial capabilities. In alignment with the public school holiday schedule of North Rhine-Westphalia, academic holidays are observed. To support the consolidation of course content, dedicated self-study periods are integrated into the programme. The 21-month curriculum is divided into four phases, comprising eight compulsory modules (16 mandatory courses) and one elective module (two optional courses). Each course encompasses 28 contact hours of 45 minutes in duration. In addition to the Master’s Thesis, academic performance in both compulsory and elective modules is assessed through a variety of methods, including written examinations, research papers, presentations, and case study analyses. All assessments are accredited within the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).

Requirements for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) study programme

Applicants to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme must hold one of the following qualifications: a diploma, a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, or an accredited state examination. In addition, candidates are required to demonstrate a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience acquired after graduation.

Elective Studies

During the third and fourth phases of the programme, participants select two elective courses, enabling them to pursue specialised knowledge in diverse areas of business and economics.

Final Examination

The MBA programme culminates in the completion of a Master’s Thesis of approximately 40 pages. The thesis topic should, whenever possible, be derived from the candidate’s professional context, thereby ensuring both academic rigour and practical relevance.
