
The Düsseldorf Business School is organised in the legal structure of a GmbH (Ltd.). Its shareholders are Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, notable companies in the region of Düsseldorf, and individual faculty professors.
A cooperation agreement exists between Düsseldorf Business School and Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, which stipulates that exams are administered by the university as well as the ways in which students of the business school have access to university resources (i.e. the library).
This model of “Public Private Partnership” combines the university’s reputation and quality assurance with the flexibility and the entrepreneurial knowledge of private business.
The board of trustees, being comprised of a wide range of persons from the academic sphere and businesses, counsels the general assembly and the Academic Advisory Board on every issue regarding premium quality further education.
All central strategic decisions are made by the Academic Advisory Board of Düsseldorf Business School. In this board, representatives of the university rectorate of Heinrich Heine University as well as representatives from business companies advise and decide.
The managing director of the GmbH is a professor of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, who is supported by additional specialised personnel in the school administration.
